There is an optinon: Certificaction.  Am I going to be redy to get this big step?  I need to  plan very well, get extra motivation  and  ask help to my children. They master technology and could guide me. I am going to think about it.

Now What?????



Plan :  What to do after the course????? Start a new plan. Plan, organize my time, read, learn, apply, b crative, ask for feedback, DO it!!!!! Use it , inetgrate it in every day activities. Who is going to be my mentor? Who is going to encourage me to continue, to correct, comment, and so on?????  I am going to be my own, as usual, life is just like this.  JUMP!!!!!!! I am sure I am going to start slowly, I hope in one year I am better with computers and e-Portfolios theory.

The first step to e-Portfolio in my teaching life.  A great class, we have shared a lot of ideas, new projects and plans. I do not know if I am going to be that good, but I am motivated. I have re-discovered:  Learning is FUN!
It is almost the end of the course, so many ideas and new questions.  The one to be answerd is HOW to start motivating students to incorporate an e-Porfolio to their daily practice of Language Learning, HOW to give them CHOICE AND VOICE????.  I would also like to add the WHEN????? I could start asking them to have a personal BLOG and storage their entries in Google Docs to be improved. Specify the kind of writing and speaking activity that is expected and determine a deadline, include clear description of the assignment , and a topic that is useful and interesting according to their field of studies. I am sure their technological skills are going to help them to integrate their oral and written production in a e-portfolio.  Comments and ideas are welcome!!!!!!!

At this point of the class I have some questions to be solved:   How to start gradually using this concepts in my class?  How to combine concepts from previous  workshops (I have my iPad now what??) and the e-portfolio.  But the best one is........  what kind of rubric and how to implement it ??????? That makes noise.
Improve my technological abilities, improve and apply some rubric development techniques and of course, apply the principles of collaborative work. I will be waiting for your help.
I have a great time today during class. Interesting experiences and concepts to use in my  classroom. Great company too, look at them

Google Drive and Mobile Devices

A very complex  and long topic. My students know a lot about thechnology, they have many electronic gadgets and master some of them.  They brig them to class and use them to learn, storage activities, look for information and complete research.
 Now I need to show them the best way to use them to make them a useful tool to imporve their portfolio, to save learning evidence and activities, and for the future job an excellent showcase. Voice, writing, ideas, reflection, and self-assesment in a synchronic and asynchronic form, a good rubric could go along and be part of the portfolio.
I see that  a portfolio refelcts students indvidual work and development, but behind there exists a great plan and lerning program developed by the school and/or teacher.
We need to select the best devices and manner to save and show the information that are going to represent best our students.

Recent Reflections

Well, learning is fun!!!!!!  I have just attenden a great Congress, many topics about language learning and teaching, more than 10 session agreed:   Learning is FUN.  It does not matter if it is here or there, English, German, Italian or French. Motivation and autonomous learning should be part of students attitude in the classroom.

Outline of benefits

e-Portfolio2013: Hi, I am Rosa Nelly. I am teaching at Tec, Campus ...

These readings made me reflect on the importance of the "old" elements:  planning and evalaution. The purpose of the protfolio should be well designed, the steps to be taken by the students clearly defined and the evaluation procedures, even the self-assessment, must show order and make sense to students and educators. It is necessary to introduce and motivate students to be familair with  portfolios since companies and employers are going to be demanding it too. It is very practical to have  a "life story" in a CLOUD, CD-ROM or in the own WEB page, as many already do.

Portfolios show the development, intelectual and personal growth of students and profssionals, as well. They encourage students to be better , to show their skills, knowledge ,and abilities in order to obtain recognition, a grade , and even a position.

Portfolios also show the organization, plan, capacity and quality of the school and teacher, it allows people to be part of the teaching, gudiance process, the teaching activity and the evaluation- product final result. It is a tool to make teaching and learning a transparent process.

So many ideas and concepts.  But the most remarkable are PASSION AND REFLECTION.   A portfolio could be the way to express feelings, own thinking process ,and of course, the learning-mastery process and final result.  It is the practice that leads to the mastery , how in love, interested in the subject- process that leads you to reflect and incorporate the new ideas in your life.  That is learning!!!!! Show the mastery of a concept, knowledge as part of your own life.  How to achieve this, well there are many digital gadgets that are part of our life, they have been helping our students  to communicate, share, learn, and reflect. Because everytime they share a picture, an idea or an event they are refelcting on its importance in their life.
 A portfolio as a picture of a person, the new CV, the new way of communication and expression of emotions, and finally KNOWLEDGE.  A portfolio gives indpendence and increases self-esteem; it also encourages the INTRINSIC MOTIVATION needed to implement and incorporate concepts and ideas to our life. It will keep a good record of the steps taken in life, the development of the mastery, and the evidence of any acquire ability and the grade of proficieny.
In short, a portfolio could motivate students to learn within their own terms in a positive and friendly enivornment .
I have seen the videos (2 of them) I can tell how in love Dr. Barret is.  I think tthat is the real key to learning, as she mentioned herself in the video.  Once you (the learner) reaches that point every thing is possible. I compare learning to my  students with falling in  love, you call the person, look for her/him, do whatever it takes to be close to him/her, and so on. The final and only objective  is to be "learned" /  "recognized" by this special person.  Well, I will continue with the thinking process, let see if I can come up with something more academic. So long!!!!
